Freefall consists of five band
members, two who reside in Prineville, two in Portland, and
one in Bend, Oregon.
The band was founded in the
Spring of 1998, when a couple of guys who had been playing
music together off and on for over twenty-five years decided to
form a duo, then came the
idea of a third player to enable fuller sounding harmonies. That
third player knew of a Bassist
that was seeking an outlet for his talents. Well, once you have
three guitar players and a bass,
you've got to get a drummer.
All members of Freefall are
well seasoned musicians of exceptional talent, all have established
themselves as professional and dedicated in the world of making
music, and all have been
doing it for thirty years or more.
There are very few limitations
imposed on the band when it comes to song selection due
to the varying styles and influence of each member. And the benefit
of everyone being a
lead vocalist in his own right, provides well rounded back-ground
vocals with two, three,
and four parts available.
In the beginning, the band
performed mostly for local gatherings of family and friends,
small clubs, and an occasional birthday party. And has since become
quite popular for
corporate events, wedding receptions, large outdoor functions,
and many other types of
venues, large and small, including a Mainstage performance at
the Portland Rose Festival.
